Lots going on..

Kayla came to babysit (she brought Memommy along for some company)

Mammy with all of her great grandchildren. Creighton doesn't stay in one spot for very long. We were lucky to get one with all of them in it.

some Christmas card outtakes

That about gets us up to speed. He is cruising everywhere, but I don't think he's going to walk on his own anytime soon. He would still much rather be carried. I think he's working on a tooth, but I've been saying that now for about 5 months so who knows. He likes to ride through the grocery store waving at every one that passes and occasionally scream at unsuspecting old ladies in a quiet aisle. And he is now saying Mama with meaning! Just counting down the days until his first Christmas..

Halloween

October was pretty much just one big dress up party, and it was awesome.

Sam was the cutest little cowboy I've ever seen. We had two different costume play groups to go to. Costumed babies are the best!

All the babies at the first play group.

Making his move on the ladybug.

Happy 9 months, Sam!

p.s. I did not intentionally give my son a bowl cut. I trimmed his "wings" (they were seriously chin length) and it turned out looking like a bowl cut. It will grow. Hopefully fast.

Beach Trip

Sam's first trip to the beach. Sunrises and coffee in the sand. Beautiful weather. Long walks. Good friends. Fun times and lots of pictures.

Boone and Bama

We had a couple of firsts last week in the Reeves household: my first solo road trip with little man and his first football game. Both successful, I might add. Sam and I headed up the mountain on Monday to visit Jayme and stayed a couple nights. The ASU campus has changed so much since I was there and I have been dying to go wander around and pretend to be a college student again. But, I gotta say it's not quite the same pushing a stroller around campus. I got a lot of "aw-man-that-poor-girl-has-a-baby" looks. Or at least that's how I interpreted them, because I could still pass for a college student, right? Right? I still love it up there and would move back in a heartbeat.

On Saturday we went to the Duke/Alabama game. It was a long, hot day, but we had a great time and Sam was a champ. The sun was brutal and we only lasted in the stands long enough to see the first touchdown (which only took about 2 minutes-Roll Tide!) before we found some shade so unfortunately I didn't get to watch very much football but I had an excuse to hold my boy all day long so I was content.

Seven months today! Hard to believe, though not quite as monumental as 6 months. I mean that's half a year. Now we have less than half a year until he turns 1. Slow down!

I've really been wanting to get some professional pictures taken of Sam. We missed newborn and 3 months so I was aiming for 6 months, but that didn't happen either. We procrastinated and then the photographer we wanted to do them wouldn't return emails (she has an 18 month old of her own and one on the way, so I can't say I blame her) so I just decided to get him dressed up on Thursday morning and do our own little photo shoot. Of course, they're not as good as professional, but they'll do! Here are some of my favorites, but you can see the rest here. Happy 7 months, Kiddo!

Aaand we're done.

Half Birthday

Sam turned 6 months old last Friday, I can hardly believe it has been that long. It seems like just yesterday there was snow on the ground and I was walking around in that sleep deprived new mom haze. Unable to bring myself to put my precious boy down for even a second. Now if I put him down for even a second and turn my head he's reaching for the outlets (don't worry, we have semi baby proofed the house). He is scooting everywhere now, and getting fast! He has almost mastered the sitting up thing; he can sit by himself, unassisted, for about 20 seconds before he starts to lean. Right now, he's trying to pull himself up into my lap and is doing a scary good job. He has started babbling "na-na-na-na" despite my constant efforts to get a "ma-ma" out of him. Occasionally, he'll give Christopher a "na-da". The most exciting milestone that has happened in the last month, though, is that he is sleeping through the night. Eleven to twelve hours a night. It is glorious! I really can't believe how fast the time goes by, before I know it he's going to be walking and talking.

Cousin Fun

Sam was finally able to meet his cousins for the first time in early June and has been getting loved on ever since. This kid is so lucky to have so many people around him that are as crazy about him as we are. For the most part, they couldn't get enough of him. At least until Katie was playing with Sam a little too much for Charlotte's liking at which point she asked me to "please leave now, Auntcy, and take him with you." Creighton warmed up to him pretty quickly, too, and was begging for more time to kiss "Baby Sahm." They are going to have so much fun growing up together, and I am going to have so much fun watching! Hurry back, Peters Kids!
